Wheelbase Engineering Ltd, founded jointly by John Pickles and Bob Bolderson has been successfully serving the commercial vehicle and trailer industry for nearly a quarter of a century.
The original factory was based in Rishton, near Blackburn and despite much refurbishment and modernization the existing production facility could not keep pace with the growing demand for the company’s products. The only solution to meet this demand was a new purpose built facility. It was therefore a milestone in the company’s history when on the 12th march 2004, the Rt Hon Jack Straw the foreign secretary and member of parliament for Blackburn officially opened the new Wheelbase Engineering Ltd production facility at Darwen in Lancashire..jpg)
The new Wheelbase Engineering Ltd. production facility based at Darwen in Lancashire is located less than 5 minutes from junction 4 on the M65 motorway.
The forty two manufacturing bays result in a total floor area in excess of 40,000 square feet. Combine this with the air-conditioned administration block and you have an up-to-date production facility employing nearly sixty people.
