Factor to determine Maximum Authorised weight - Rigids, Tractors, Trailers & Articulated Vehicles
| |
(kg) |
| Rigid vehicle with: |
| 2 axles |
6,000 |
| 3 axles |
5,500 |
| 4 or more |
5,000 |
| Tractor unit with: |
| 2 axles |
6,000 |
| 3 or more |
6,000 |
| Trailer, not being a semi-trailer or centre axle trailer with: |
| 2 axles |
6,000 |
| 3 or more |
5,000 |
| Articulated vehicle with 3 or more axles |
5.500 |
These weights are determined by the number of axles and the authorised weight is the number equal to the product of the distance measured in metres between the first and last axle of the vehicle (for articulated vehicles the distance measured is from the kingpin to the centre of the last axle of the semi-trailer) multiplied by the factor specified and rounded up to the nearest 10kg, if that number is less than the maximum authorised weight.
