The introduction of the Wheelbase Engineering Limited third axle, midlift installation provides Scania with the opportunity to offer an ideal vehicle for hook-lift operation at 23000kgs.
The engineering of the Scania P310 DB 4X2 HNZ, supplied by West Pennine Trucks Limited of Manchester, with a wheelbase of 5700 mm incorporates a mid-lift third axle, on drum brakes and 295/80RX22.5 single wheels and tyres, positioned 1315mm forward of the existing drive axle position.
The Wheelbase midlift third axle installation results in a GVW of 23000kgs, with a bogie capacity of 18000kgs providing an extremely versitile body platform.
The particular vehicle illustrated is destined to go into service with European Metal Recycling of Blackburn, subsequent to having Edbro Hook-lift chassis equipment fitted.
